UPDATE

Who is Jessica
Jessica Tait was born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 14, 1994.
When she was 13 years old she was diagnosed with Osteogenic  Sarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer.

Jessica LIVED with cancer.  In that year and a half she became an inspiration, a leader, a teacher, a compelling speaker, a healer, a peacemaker, a clown, an athlete, a world traveller, a fundraiser, a dear friend, a little girl, a young woman of great influence, wisdom, and ability to effect change.  Jessica pulled us out of our complacency and challenged us to do better spirit strong and always with us continues to inspire.

Jessica died on February 22, 2009.  She died at home, in her mother Christine’s arms, surrounded by the love of her family.  It is a testament to her strength that Jessica made a very deliberate choice to be at home, not to die, but to live fully every moment given to her with the people she loved.  Jessica made us realize the difference between being alive and being truly ALIVE!

Who Jessica’s Wish Foundation helps
The mission of Jessica’s Wish is to provide resources during treatment enabling other youth and their families to live in hope.

This might mean providing funding so that a family without resources is able travel to stay with their child during treatment, or paying the rent or utility bill for parents that have had to miss work without pay. It could mean funding to seek alternative treatment, or sending a family to the movies to just have fun and forget about cancer for a moment.  Jessica showed us the power hope, fun, and family can have in the life of a child!

In a rally to create awareness of the ending in ME3, gamers pooled there money together to buy custom cupcakes for Bioware, a video game company based out of Edmonton. You can see the news on the Global website Here.
